I don't recall why or when, but at some point I began using watercolor and ink on glass. Watercolor is an translucent medium, so using a shadow box frame gives the piece depth.
Most artists consider watercolor difficult and it's even more challenging on glass. Controlling the water is tedious, wet bleeds into dry and uncertain shrinkage results in an unpredictable outcome. Exploring new ways of working with watercolor is enjoyable, possibly because I savor a challenge.
